NEVER TRUST A TREE!
Well, the leaning tree that was leaning right at the middle of our house had a mind of its own. Our good neighbor, Bill, is a logger and felling trees in precise spots is his game. Bill came over, we dug out the GMC 4WD truck with the winch and Bill and my husband put cables on the tree, cinched it up with the winch - not much room for error but everything looked good - Bill put the necessary wedge cuts in the tree to further insure its way of falling - then the mother cut - you could hear the tree cracking and then the hook on the cable came loose and down she thundered - missing the house by 14 inches!!! Pucker time for everyone. Again, very lucky. So now we are just waiting for the insurance adjuster and soon all will be back to normal.
A Horse's View Of The World
I find horses so fascinating and they are often smarter than we realize. I have boarded in very large commercial stables, and one can walk down the aisle and it is obvious that all those horses have unique personalities, different expressions on the their faces and, like people, their eyes tell alot. It is with this in mind that my blog will often be from a horses point of view, at least as I see it.
