WHO'S THAT KNOCKING ON MY ROOF!!
What a terrible windstorm we had on Thursday, December 14. My husband and I were listening to the howling wind Thursday evening - wondering if all the trees around the house were going to stay up. Elmer dozed off on the couch and all of a sudden BANG BANG BANG BANG - I could tell it was a tree that hit near the peak of the roof and came sliding down the side. It was 11:00 at night, pitch dark outside (miraculously our power stayed on all night). My husband, slept through it - I was terrified and for some reason I was mad at Elmer who was still sleeping - I yelled at him "How Can YOu Sleep When our House is Falling Down". That woke him up. Luckily, the only real damage was a couple sections of the front deck railing which is easily fixed. My car was parked with it's nose under the deck and the tree fell directly where my car was but the deck stopped it. Not a scratch. We were very lucky. The tree that fell brought another tree part way down and we need to get that taken care of. I hope my friend Penny's family and horses are OK. If I remember right, she has some big trees around. My neighbor, Toni, survived well, no damage. So, we have had quite a winter so far, rain and flooding, deep snow, extremely high winds - what is left? Sun, sun, sun!!
A Horse's View Of The World
I find horses so fascinating and they are often smarter than we realize. I have boarded in very large commercial stables, and one can walk down the aisle and it is obvious that all those horses have unique personalities, different expressions on the their faces and, like people, their eyes tell alot. It is with this in mind that my blog will often be from a horses point of view, at least as I see it.
