THE SNOW FINALLY SLIDE OFF THE ARENA ROOF.
It took a long time but no one wanted to be riding in the arena when the snow slipped of the roof. The snow had slipped down about 24 inches from the peak and all of it was resting in the gutters. I guess it was ONE LOUD MESS when she came down. So now Jango and I are back working on our dressage. The cranky little guy knows what I want, but keeps testing me just to see how much I will get after him when he evades the bit. I got a couple turns around the arena and a couple 20 meter circles with him nicely on the bit- both posting and setting trot. He's carrying his head a little too low but I will take of that with a shorter rein and more leg in a couple weeks. Then getting the lazy little bugger to transition into the canter and keep his head down with probably be the toughest because he will really have to work!!! and use his big fat butt!! Then hopefully, this spring I will start jumping exercises and then maybe, just maybe, a Novice Event in the summer.
A Horse's View Of The World
I find horses so fascinating and they are often smarter than we realize. I have boarded in very large commercial stables, and one can walk down the aisle and it is obvious that all those horses have unique personalities, different expressions on the their faces and, like people, their eyes tell alot. It is with this in mind that my blog will often be from a horses point of view, at least as I see it.
