A Horse's View Of The World

I find horses so fascinating and they are often smarter than we realize. I have boarded in very large commercial stables, and one can walk down the aisle and it is obvious that all those horses have unique personalities, different expressions on the their faces and, like people, their eyes tell alot. It is with this in mind that my blog will often be from a horses point of view, at least as I see it.

IWAS BAD YESTERDAY - OUT CAME THE SIDE REINS AND THE OLD BIT.

I was just plain lazy and in a bad mood yesterday. I just did not want to work. There were 4 other silly horses in the arena - they were irritating but SHE said it is not a perfect world so get used to it. SHE rode me and boy, did she have to use a lot of leg. And I refused to properly take the bit - no matter what she did. So SHE tried the "old waiting game". She just sat there with a firm hold on the reins and waited for me to break at the poll - and I was stubborn -SHE waited and waited. Finally, I gave up, my nose went down and right away she let up on the pressure, which I liked. Then she asked me to move off at a trot and back up when my nose. SHE told me she WOULD OUTLAST ME so, she sat there again waiting, waiting. Finally, down went the nose she patted me and we struck off at the trot. I kept my nose down but my jaw was not yielding at all but she just rode me through it, lots of leg and spur.SHE got one "sort of consistant" 20 meter circle, made me do a turn around the front again and got off. No pats, no carrots, she leD me in silence to the barn, untacked me and said "OK, Jango, tomorrow the old bit comes back as well as the side reins".
Didn't sleep well last night, I thought I'd probably gone too far.
